We also hate HEIC
Your iPhone saves photos in a format half the internet still can't open. Fixing that shouldn't mean uploading your camera roll to a stranger's server.
HEIC is a good format. It keeps photos sharp at about half the size of JPG. The trouble is everything else: Windows wants a codec, websites reject it, the print shop asks for JPG, and your email attachments show up as mystery files.
The usual fix is a website that uploads your photos, converts them on a server, and sends them back, often with a size limit, a queue, a sign-up wall or ads in between. Your photos also carry your home's GPS location, the time you took them and the phone you own. That's a lot to hand over to convert a file.
So we built the converter we wanted:
- Private by design. Everything runs in your browser. We couldn't see your photos if we tried.
- Fast. Several photos convert at once on your own processor. No upload, no queue.
- No limits. No file caps, no daily quota, no watermark, no account.
- Done properly. Colours stay right, photos come out the right way up, and you choose what metadata to keep.
The site is free. We count anonymous visits to see which tools people use, and that's it. Read the privacy page.
